Cardiology experts behind the popularity of fitness live broadcasts: exercise needs to be done within one’s capacity

CNR Beijing, April 26 news (Reporter Wang Guojing) Recently, fitness live broadcasts on social media have become popular. However, experts suggest that exercise is beneficial to physical health, but unreasonable exercise will backfire and bring a burden to physical health.

It is recommended to conduct a health assessment before exercising

Li Zuomin, director of the Department of Cardiology of Wuhan First Hospital, said in an interview with a reporter from China Central Broadcasting Network that because everyone’s physical condition is different, when exercising A health assessment should be carried out before, and an exercise “prescription” that is suitable for you should be issued.

“Pay attention during exercise. It’s not that people who exercise regularly are necessarily healthy.” Li Zuomin suggested that in addition to regular exercise, it is also very important to develop healthy living habits and keep an eye on one’s own health. , to avoid adverse consequences caused by excessive exercise.

Continued high-intensity exercise is not good for health

“Adolescents, middle-aged and young people, and the elderly face different physical conditions and different types of diseases. In this case, different people need to have different types of exercise and exercise intensity.” Li Zuomin believes that exercise intensity is defined, usually measured by heart rate during exercise.

If the heart rate is lower than 120 beats per minute during exercise, it is considered a low intensity; if the heart rate is 120~150 beats per minute, it is considered a medium intensity; if the heart rate is 150~180 beats per minute, It belongs to high strength; if it exceeds 180 times/min, it belongs to ultra-high strength. From a medical point of view, continuous high-intensity exercise is unhealthy to a certain extent.

People with underlying diseases need to formulate their own exercise “prescriptions”

Different from healthy people, patients with cardiovascular disease need to formulate their own exercise “prescriptions”. According to Li Zuomin, some exercises are suitable for patients with cardiovascular disease, while others are not.

Before exercising, patients with cardiovascular disease should first assess whether the disease is in a stable state. Secondly, we must understand the severity of our own disease and assess what kind of exercise is suitable for the current physical state. It is recommended that such patients mainly focus on aerobic exercise, such as walking, swimming, Tai Chi, square dancing, etc.

There are these evaluation indicators for the elderly to exercise moderately

As the elderly are a group with a high incidence of cardiovascular disease, Li Zuomin suggested that the elderly should exercise moderately and do not advocate high-intensity exercise.

What exactly is the right amount of exercise? Li Zuomin said that there are two evaluation indicators to measure whether exercise is appropriate: one is the amount of activity, and the other is the intensity of the activity.

If the purpose of exercise is health, it is recommended to do aerobic exercise three or four times a week, with intervals in between, and each activity lasts about 30 minutes. Exercise intensity is generally 60%-70% of the maximum heart rate for exercise.
