In order to create a collaborative innovation network for immune diseases and gout in our province and promote the development of clinical research in this field, the sub-centers were selected across the province, and the Weifang People’s Hospital was recognized by the pre-organization declaration, online defense, expert review and other procedures. Weifang People’s Hospital Immunity Disease and Gout Clinical Medical Research Branch consists of four sub-specialties, namely endocrine and metabolic disease team, rheumatism and self- The immune disease team, allergic reaction disease team, and basic immunology research team integrate medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. The branch center is now a key clinical specialty of Shandong Province, a national 863 science and technology project plan cooperation unit, a member unit of the National Rheumatology Data Center (CRDC), and a national clinical drug trial base. In 2012, it was authorized by the Ministry of Health as a “specialized outpatient clinic for standardized diagnosis and treatment of rheumatism” and “designated hospital for standardized treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in China”; in 2014, it became a cooperative center for Chinese gout diagnosis and treatment; in 2019, it became a rare disease diagnosis and treatment unit in China, and in 2015 and 2020 It is rated as a key clinical specialty in Shandong Province twice a year; in 2020, it will become the Weifang City Gout Diagnosis and Treatment Center and the Weifang City Medical Research Center Base.
The sub-center has 108 beds, the annual outpatient volume is about 40,000, and the annual discharged patients is more than 3,500. There are 3 professional wards and outpatient clinics. Specialized clinics for endocrine and metabolic diseases, rheumatic immune diseases, allergic reaction diseases, professional laboratories for endocrine and metabolic diseases, and specialized laboratories for rheumatic immune diseases are equipped with joint ultrasound, bone mineral density measurement and other inspections. The team’s talent echelon configuration is reasonable, and there are currently 101 medical staff. There are 14 doctoral degree holders and 43 master degree holders. It is a postgraduate training site for endocrinology and metabolism in Weifang Medical College, a postgraduate training site for immunology, and a postgraduate training site for clinical laboratory science. There are 10 postgraduate tutors, 30 postgraduate students, and more than 100 have graduated.
In recent years, the sub-center has undertaken more than 20 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund Project, and the key projects of the Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province, and published more than 100 academic papers, more than 30 of which were included in SCI articles. 10 scientific researches won the second prize of Weifang Science and Technology Progress Award.
