Zibo Shibo High-tech Hospital: Successfully treated a child who took psychotropic drugs by mistake

Recently, the World Expo High-tech Hospital admitted a comatose child Cong Cong (pseudonym) who was poisoned by accidental ingestion of psychotropic drugs. According to Grandma Congcong’s recollection, due to the needs of her family, she always kept psychotropic drugs at home. After taking the medicine that day, she accidentally put the medicine bottle on the table. The granddaughter is usually very curious. When the family found out, they saw that the child was holding a medicine bottle in his hand. The family members who saw the scene were frightened and called 120 immediately.

“Children’s liver function is not fully developed, and the harm of mistakenly taking adult medication is often more serious than that of adults. The child took more than 20 pieces of psychotropic drugs at one time, which is likely to have an inhibitory effect on his nervous system and cause nervous system damage, which is really dangerous!” said Liu Yongkang, deputy director of the emergency department.

The hospital doctors rushed to the scene and gave emergency treatment for half an hour. Cong Cong regained consciousness and his vital signs gradually stabilized. After several days of observation and treatment, he recovered and was discharged from the hospital recently.
