This is the second case of Ebola since the country’s Ebola outbreak ended in December 2021.

Congo (DRC) Health Minister Mbengani said on the 23rd that a person was found to have Ebola hemorrhagic fever in the Equateur province in the northwest of the country. The WHO Regional Office for Africa confirmed on the same day that the patient was a 31-year-old male who developed suspected symptoms in early April and died on April 22. The local health and epidemic prevention department analyzed the sample and confirmed that it was a confirmed case of Ebola.

Ebola hemorrhagic fever is a hemorrhagic infectious disease caused by Ebola virus. The main manifestations are fever, hemorrhage and multiple organ damage, and the mortality rate is as high as 50% to 90%.
