The printer cannot print in both directions

Q: My unit has been using EPSON DLQ2000K dot matrix printer. For some unknown reason, the printer cannot perform bidirectional printing. Open the background settings of the printer, the bidirectional printing task option is grayed out and cannot be selected. Since the printer’s manual and driver disk are missing, I use the Epson DLQ2000 driver to install the printer, hoping to help me solve this problem.

Answer: According to the information provided by EPSON website, EPSON DLQ2000K is an older model, and there is no dedicated driver for downloading. 2500K, LQ-2550 or LQ-2600 as the driver. You only need to delete the original DLQ2000 driver installed under Win98, and then reinstall one of the LQ-2500K, LQ-2550 or LQ-2600 that comes with Win98 (try it yourself and see which one works better) It should work. Solve the problem. If bidirectional printing still cannot be performed after changing the driver, you can also try another method, first delete the installed DLQ2000 printer driver, then open “My Computer → Printer → Add Printer”, when selecting the printer type, The manufacturer chooses “Star”, and the printer chooses “Star CR-3240” to realize bidirectional printing (this method has been successfully tested in the LQ1600K III dot matrix printer).

Unable to print under DOS and unable to print under WINDOWS

Fault phenomenon: The printer can print normally under DOS. Can’t print under Windows. When choosing to print under WINDOWS, the screen shows that the printer is not properly connected and not selected.

Analysis and processing: DOS can print, indicating that the printer has been connected to the power supply and is in a connected state. The printer paper is in good condition and the location is the right size. Cables and I/O cards are connected correctly. Just need to change the type or driver of the printer in the printer options in the WINDOWS “Control Panel”, and you can print correctly.
