Cold air is coming! Strong winds, cooling and widespread rain and snow in most parts of my country

According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, from the 10th to the 14th, a strong cold air will affect most parts of my country from west to east, bringing obvious strong winds, cooling and large-scale rain and snow, and sand and dust will appear in some areas. Strong convective weather such as short-term heavy precipitation.

Recently, the central and eastern regions have experienced a wave of new high temperatures. Under the clear sky, the temperature in the north and south of the Dajiang is much higher than the same period of the year. Affected by the strong cold air, the sunny and warmer weather situation is about to usher in a turning point.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from the 10th to the 14th, the temperature in most areas will drop by 6°C to 10°C, and the temperature in parts of North China, Huanghuai, eastern Northeast China, and central and western Inner Mongolia will drop by 12°C. ℃ to 16 ℃, the local temperature is above 16 ℃, and the maximum temperature during the day drops significantly. There are winds of magnitude 4 to 6 in most areas north of the Yangtze River, and dusty weather in parts of the southern Xinjiang Basin, central and western Inner Mongolia, western Gansu, northern Shaanxi, Ningxia, northern Shanxi, and northern Hebei.

In terms of precipitation, there will be light to moderate rain (snow) or sleet in the Ili Valley of Xinjiang, eastern Inner Mongolia, North China, Northeast China and Huanghuai, and there will be heavy to blizzards in northeastern Inner Mongolia and northwestern Heilongjiang; There are light to moderate rains from west to east in the eastern part of Southwest China, Jianghan, Jianghuai, Jiangnan, and South China, and heavy rains and local heavy rains in some areas.

According to the introduction of Fu Jiaolan, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, this process was caused by the development of high-altitude troughs in Mongolia and the development of ground cold high pressure eastwards, carrying cold air to affect most areas of my country. In spring, the Eurasian high latitudes receive less solar radiation and the atmospheric temperature is low. After a period of accumulation, it is easy to form a cold center and a ground high pressure. Once a high-altitude trough develops and moves eastward, the ground cold high pressure may carry strong winds, sand and dust all the way. east.

Although it is a normal phenomenon, due to the complex weather process, wide influence range and large temperature drop brought by this cold air, it is still necessary to pay close attention and take targeted preventive measures.

Experts reminded that my country’s spring agricultural production has entered a critical period. The rain and snow brought by the strong cold air is conducive to increasing the moisture content of the wheat fields in the northern winter wheat area and easing the drought in some parts of the northwest area. However, at the same time, attention should be paid to preventing weather such as strong wind, sand and dust, and cooling that may adversely affect facility agriculture, animal husbandry and fruit trees in flowering. The temperature will fluctuate violently in the next few days, and the public is advised to dress appropriately according to the weather forecast.
