The gastrointestinal surgery team in action.
Red Net Moment News, April 8 (Correspondent Tang Bing) Recently, a case of complex retroperitoneal tumor was successfully resected by 3D laparoscopy in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Lengshuitan District, Yongzhou Central Hospital.
The patient Mr. Xiong from Jiangyong County, 43 years old this year, came to Yongzhou Central Hospital for more than half a month due to low back pain, and was admitted to the Gastrointestinal Department of Lengshuitan District of the hospital. After preoperative contrast-enhanced CT and other examinations, a retroperitoneal tumor was diagnosed. The tumor is very deep, located behind the duodenum and pancreas, and is “fully surrounded” by the duodenum, and the tumor is close to the abdominal aorta, inferior vena cava, left renal vein and other major abdominal blood vessels, and even the inferior vena cava is surrounded. The tumor is squeezed and deformed, and surgical resection is extremely difficult. A little carelessness can lead to massive bleeding, and at the same time, it may damage important organs such as the duodenum and pancreas, resulting in life-threatening. Combined with clinical experience, it is considered that the tumor is likely to be a “paraganglioma” (a tumor that may secrete hormones and cause various diseases such as high blood pressure). During the operation, blood pressure may fluctuate violently, leading to life-threatening.

In order to maximize the surgical efficacy and life safety of patients, the gastrointestinal surgery team conducted a rigorous analysis and discussion of the disease, and invited the hospital’s urology, cardiovascular surgery, anesthesiology and other related departments for consultation. . Considering that 3D laparoscopy has advantages over 2D laparoscopy in terms of stereoscopic and spatial sense, it was finally decided to use 3D laparoscopy for minimally invasive surgery.
The operation was performed by Gui Shuangyuan, deputy director of the department. Because the tumor is close to many large blood vessels and important organs such as the duodenum and pancreas, it is very difficult to expose and remove it, which is a test for the operation ability and meticulousness of the operation. The operation was very smooth, the blood pressure and other vital signs during the operation were very stable, and the blood loss was only about 10ml. The patient recovered and was discharged from the hospital one week after the operation.
3D laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery, and there are only a few “keyhole”-sized incisions in the abdomen after surgery, which causes little trauma to the patient. At the same time, the postoperative recovery is fast, which greatly shortens the length of hospitalization of patients, so it is easy to be accepted by patients.
