On April 7, the reporter learned from the Kunming Maternal and Child Health Hospital that the hospital has successfully completed the 2022 “For Sisters’ Health and Happiness” national March 8 public welfare activities. A total of 5 small-scale public welfare lectures, two free clinics, and one online live broadcast were held in the event, and 100 poor women were screened for cervical cancer and breast cancer in batches for free.
It is understood that this public welfare activity is organized by Kunming Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone To be completed together, due to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, the physical examination activities were completed in batches and time periods on a small scale. Kunming Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone Women’s Federation have recruited 100 impoverished women in the surrounding villages of the Economic and Technological Development Zone who have no fixed jobs and stable income in advance to conduct cervical cancer and breast cancer screenings worth more than 500 yuan free of charge, including HPV examination, TCT examination and breast examination, and distributed brochures and small gifts. The detection rate of HPV in this activity cervical examination was 8%, 8% of high-risk types, and 0% of low-risk types; 1 person was detected by cytology ASCUS, and cervical biopsy has been performed pending the results for further processing. After breast palpation examination, 7 patients underwent free breast B-ultrasound examination, and 28 patients were found to be benign nodules, and follow-up is recommended.
In addition, the hospital held a number of small-scale public welfare lectures in Lianhe City during the March 8th festival. Internet tools are used to broadcast online, which avoids crowds and completes the development of health lectures.
Through this activity, 100 impoverished women were given the opportunity to be screened, and the detected women were treated effectively, preventing the occurrence of cervical cancer .
