Patient J, 57 years old, had recurrence of cervical cancer 5 years after chemotherapy. After admission, the gynecological tumor center of our hospital conducted a comprehensive and detailed evaluation of the patient’s condition, and determined the lesion location, size and scope of the recurrent tumor. Decisions made by MDT can help patients with surgery.
After careful deployment by the MDT team, and with the support of the interventional department, the laboratory department and other departments, Wu Ming Professor, Dean Ma Zhiqiang, and Director Wang Yalin of Urology Department led the team to achieve seamless operation of the three departments.
Due to the complexity of the patient’s condition, surgery can be like walking a tightrope over a cliff. In order to reduce the risk of surgery, Director Wang Yalin placed a ureteral stent for the patient to relieve the obstruction before surgery, and gave intraoperative instructions to avoid accidental damage to the greatest extent; Director Liu Tao of the Interventional Department performed vascular embolization before surgery to reduce the risk of intraoperative bleeding. The surgery was ultimately a complete success.
This operation not only completely removed the tumor lesions in the corresponding parts, but also anastomosed the patient’s ureter with the bladder. The organ function of the patient is protected, the quality of life of the patient is improved, and the survival period of the patient is prolonged. After the careful care of the ICU medical staff, the patient has been transferred back to the general ward and is gradually recovering.

Patient Z, in October 2021, came to the Gynecological Oncology Center of our hospital because of ovarian tumors, and found Professor Wu Ming for outpatient treatment.
After preoperative examination and MDT discussion, Professor Wu Ming-Director Zhao Yang’s team carried out R0 resection of the recurrent tumor for Ms. Z, and combined her surgical and pathological findings. Based on the results of genetic testing, a treatment plan of postoperative chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy was formulated for the patient.
Ms. Z completed 6 rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy in a local hospital after being discharged from Aerui Rehabilitation. This time she was admitted to the hospital to evaluate the curative effect and remove the ureteral stent.
After evaluation by gynecological examination, pelvic and abdominal CT examination, and tumor marker detection, the patient’s tumor has achieved complete remission (CR).
