Black medicine is one of the Qi-regulating medicines. Li Shizhen said: Black people are named after their colors. Southerners also call it dwarf camphor because its aroma is like camphor.

Black medicine is an authentic medicinal material, preferably born in Tiantai, Zhejiang Province. Its function warms the kidneys and dispels cold, and promotes qi and relieves pain. It is used for symptoms of chest and abdomen pain, enuresis, frequent urination, etc. Therefore, black medicine can be used for all qi stagnation syndromes.

The Legend of Wuyao

Wuyao has been regarded as the medicine of longevity since ancient times. Legend has it that Qin Shihuang sent Xu Fu to look for the elixir of immortality, and finally traveled through mountains and rivers to Tiantai Mountain and found black medicine. Later, it was brought to Japan as a gift.

There are also many records about the use of black medicine among the royal families of the past dynasties, and Tiantai Mountain was originally the birthplace of the Southern Taoist sect, such as Ge Hong, Han Shanzi, Sima Chengzhen, Zhang Bourui, Fan Qingyun, Gao Dongli and so on, the legend is that the longevity and the end of life. Therefore, Tiantai Mountain and Wuyao are rendered very mythical.

The origin and function of black medicine

Origin: Distributed in Shaanxi, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Sichuan and other places.

Nature and flavor: pungent, warm; return to the lung, spleen, kidney, bladder meridians.

Efficacy: Activating Qi and relieving pain, warming kidney and dispelling cold.

Usage and dosage: Decoction, 3-9g.

The use of black medicine

Compendium of Materia Medica: “Treat Zhongqi, Athlete’s Foot, Hernia, gas and headache, swelling and wheezing, stop urination and white turbidity.”

Therefore, black medicine can treat:

1. certificate. Fullness in the chest and flank, abdominal distention, headache, cold hernia pain, dysmenorrhea and postpartum abdominal pain.

2. Frequent urination, enuresis.
