March 21 is the twenty-second World Sleep Day, and this year’s theme is “Sleep Well, Stay Healthy.” Ye Jingying, chairman of the Sleep Medicine Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, released the “Report on the Sleep Status of Urban Office Workers” at the “2022 World Sleep Day Press Conference”.
The content of the report is a sleep data survey conducted by the Sleep Medicine Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. The data source is 500,000 sleep data and 1,833 valid questionnaires in 2021. The sample age covers people over 18 years old. Office workers, including 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the mainland.
Office workers sleep an average of 7.5 hours
The questionnaire survey users showed that the average sleep time was 7.5 hours, and the watch bracelet users showed that the average sleep time was 6.85 hours. Only 22% sleep more than 8 hours, about 53% sleep for 6-8 hours, and 25% sleep less than 6 hours. The data shows that the sleep time of office workers over 35 years old gradually decreases with age.
Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are the most able to stay up late, and Shandong people sleep the earliest
The data shows that the cities most likely to stay up late include Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, and Guangdong Province is the last sleeper, with an average bedtime of 23:55; playing mobile phones has become a major factor affecting sleep quality. “The main culprit”, 60% of office workers are affected by it; the earliest province to go to bed is Shandong Province, with an average bedtime of 22:58; the earliest province to get up is Shandong Province, with an average of 06:58; The province is Sichuan, and the average wake-up time is 07:50.
Nearly half of office workers have poor sleep quality
Data shows that 47% of office workers report poor sleep quality, and only 30.6% of office workers reach the standard for deep sleep time; in addition to these factors, the questionnaire shows that 25% of the population snores every night, potentially Risk of sleep apnea; among office workers with poor sleep quality, 51.6% showed memory loss, and 47.8% showed inability to concentrate; among people with less than 6 hours of sleep, 25.5% were overweight. 45% of office workers who sleep less than 6 hours have facial skin problems; meanwhile, office workers who go to bed early and get up early have a lower probability of skin problems.
Commute time is 15-30 minutes sleep time is the longest
Statistics show that sleep duration correlates with sleep-disturbing problems: The longer the sleep time, the fewer sleep-disturbing problems for office workers; the data shows that the commute time is 15-30 minutes and the sleep time is the longest , with the increase of commuting time, the sleep time decreased slightly, but the sleep time of office workers who commuted more than 2 hours increased instead, and they got enough sleep.
Teaching, sales, and service industries are the most troubled by sleep
Top ten industries troubled by sleep in 2021: education and training practitioners, sales staff, service staff, Internet industry, construction workers and other manual workers, medical staff, civil servants, financial practitioners, Entrepreneurs, business managers; office workers with children, the sleep time is significantly lower than that of office workers without children.
