Original title: Maternal and child health traditional Chinese medicine will “gain weight”

(Reporter Sun Leqi) The Municipal Health Commission and the Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine have jointly formulated the Beijing maternal and child health field. According to the implementation plan of the “lifting and sinking” project of traditional Chinese medicine, by 2025, the proportion of the city’s third-level and second-level maternal and child health care hospitals to provide specialized services in traditional Chinese medicine will reach 90% and 70%.

The city will improve the TCM service network in the field of maternal and child health, requiring qualified maternal and child health care institutions, general hospitals, and specialized hospitals to establish TCM pediatrics and TCM gynecology secondary branches, and increase the proportion of outpatient TCM services year by year . By 2025, 90% and 70% of tertiary and secondary maternal and child health care hospitals will provide specialized TCM services, and the volume of outpatient TCM services will increase significantly.

Maternal and child health care institutions should optimize the clinic layout and service process of TCM clinical departments. In principle, TCM clinics should be arranged adjacent to relevant western medicine clinics in the clinic areas of the Maternity Health Department, the Child Health Department, and the Women’s Health Department. Carry out pilot projects of multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment models such as maternal treatment and children’s key disease prevention and treatment, and incorporate traditional Chinese medicine into the multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment system. Support TCM medical institutions and maternal and child health care institutions to integrate resources to open infertility clinics.

Strengthen the construction of traditional Chinese medicine talent team in the field of maternal and child health. By 2025, maternal and child health care institutions at all levels will establish no less than 30 inheritance studios, and each studio will train no less than 4 traditional Chinese medicine practitioners backbone. In addition, TCM health literacy monitoring indicators covering the whole life cycle of women and children will be formulated, and a monitoring index of TCM health literacy for women and children will be formed to dynamically grasp the trend of changes in the level of traditional Chinese medicine literacy among women and children.
