China News Agency, Beijing, March 18 (Reporter Li Jingze) The “China Sleep Research Report (2022)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Report”) was released in Beijing on the 18th. The report pointed out that the average sleep time of Chinese people is 7.06 hours. Looking at mobile phones and surfing the Internet is an important reason for people’s sleep delay and insomnia.
The report was edited by the Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Xilinmen Sleep Research Institute, and published by the Social Sciences Literature Publishing House. The report pointed out that Chinese people do not get enough sleep, with an average sleep time of 7.06 hours per day.
Looking at the sleep situation of Chinese people from 2012 to 2021, the report believes that compared with ten years ago, the time to fall asleep is more than two hours later, the time to get up is 37 minutes later, and the sleep It’s almost 1.5 hours shorter.
The report believes that looking at mobile phones and surfing the Internet is an important reason for people’s sleep delay and insomnia. In addition, work or study time crowding out sleep time is very prominent among young and middle-aged groups. Sleep disorders such as insomnia also affect sleep duration. There is no significant difference in the frequency of insomnia among young and middle-aged groups, but the problem of insomnia affecting sleep is the most prominent among the elderly groups aged 60 and above.
The report said that from the perspective of demographic differences, younger, female, more educated, and unmarried people have relatively more mobile phone procrastination and sleep behavior, while the higher the personal monthly income, the higher the number of property owners. People with higher subjective social class have relatively less sleep procrastination behaviors on mobile phones and Internet access.
The report pointed out that before the implementation of the “Double Deduction” policy, primary and secondary school students in various places were generally sleep deprived, and the main influencing factors were learning pressure factors, parent or caregiver factors, physiological factors, emotional factors, sleep habits and environmental factors .
According to the report, survey data showed that after the implementation of the “double reduction” policy, 61.53% of parents of primary and secondary school students said that their children went to bed earlier. However, the report also pointed out that 50.48% of parents of middle school students and 37.77% of parents of primary school students still said that their children’s average sleep time per day still cannot reach 8 hours. These data show that the double reduction policy has a positive significance in improving the sleep problems of primary and secondary school students, but it still deserves the continuous attention of educators and all sectors of society.
