74 children with congenital heart disease in Zigong, Sichuan get free surgery

Activity At the scene, an expert team from the Cardiovascular Center of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, in conjunction with an expert team from the Prenatal Diagnosis Center, Children’s Health Department, and Ultrasound Imaging Department of Zigong Maternal and Child Health Hospital, conducted an investigation into the city’s 0-18-year-old children with congenital heart disease and suspected or suspected congenital heart disease. Pregnant mothers diagnosed with congenital heart disease have carried out free screening and diagnostic consultation public welfare activities, and children with congenital heart disease who meet the conditions for surgery and voluntarily undergo surgery are provided with the opportunity to undergo free surgery at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University.

According to preliminary statistics, a total of 74 children with congenital heart disease and 8 pregnant mothers with suspected or confirmed fetuses with congenital heart disease received free screening, consultation and diagnosis on that day.

It is understood that the “Heart Blessing Project” is a health and poverty alleviation project organized by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University to help children from poor families with congenital heart disease free of charge. Since its establishment in 2014, the project has traveled to Tibet, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Sichuan and other places successively to provide free screening for more than 60,000 children with congenital heart disease from families with financial difficulties, and to help more than 750 children with congenital heart disease for free. sick children.
