What to do if bitten by an animal suspected of having rabies?

①Rinse repeatedly with soap and water.

②Wipe or disinfect the inside of the wound with 2% iodine, benzalkonium chloride or other skin and mucous membrane disinfectants with virus inactivation effect.

③ Immediately go to the rabies clinic to receive professional post-exposure prophylaxis, cleaning wounds, inoculating human rabies vaccine and injecting rabies passive immunization preparations as appropriate.

Many people have serious misunderstandings about rabies vaccine, and there are folk sayings that “effective for 48 hours” and “effective for 72 hours”. This is a misconception that vaccination against rabies before the onset of the disease can be effective.

Which situations require a rabies vaccine? How long will the vaccine be effective?

1. I was scratched and bitten by a stray cat or dog I don’t know where. Can I beat him or not?

2. Do I need to be vaccinated after being bitten by a vaccinated pet?

It is recommended to play. my country belongs to the rabies endemic area, even if the injured animal has been vaccinated, it must be treated.

3. The cats and dogs at home have been living indoors for nearly half a year, and they are in normal condition. They scratched and bit me. Do I need to be vaccinated and globulin?

4. I have been vaccinated against rabies after being bitten by a dog, and I am bitten again. Do I need to be vaccinated?

If the re-exposure occurs during the vaccination period, there is no need to increase the dose, and the original program can be vaccinated. If the re-exposure occurs within half a year after the full vaccination, re-immunization is not required. If the re-exposure occurs in half a year to one year after the full vaccination, one dose of the vaccine will be given on the 0th day and on the 3rd day. One dose of the vaccine is given each, and if re-exposure occurs three years after the full vaccination, full immunization is required.

Rabies is extremely harmful to the human body. Once the symptoms of rabies appear, the fatality rate is close to 100%. How can we prevent and control rabies in our daily life?
