The performance evaluation results of public hospitals show that from 2018 to 2021, the indicators related to rational drug use in secondary and tertiary public hospitals have increased year by year. In 2020, the National Health Commission and other six departments jointly issued the “Opinions on Strengthening the Management of Pharmaceutical Affairs in Medical Institutions and Promoting Rational Use of Drugs”, which will become the working guidelines for the management of pharmaceutical affairs in medical institutions for a period of time in the future.

At the meeting, Hu Yin, director of the National Rational Drug Use Monitoring Network Office, introduced the clinical drug monitoring of 1,829 sample hospitals across the country. Hu Yin pointed out that the current rational drug use monitoring network covers 30 provinces and is distributed in more than 300 cities under separate state planning and prefecture-level cities. Hu Yin said that in the future, the National Rational Drug Use Monitoring Office will strengthen special research on rational drug use in various places, targeting key diseases.
