On the afternoon of April 19, the Information Office of the Municipal Government held a press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia in Xi’an (the 73rd session) to report the latest situation of epidemic prevention and control.
According to the research and judgment of Xi’an Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters, it has been decided that from April 20, the city will resume classes in an orderly manner. There is no epidemic in the main urban area, and primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in non-closed and controlled districts and counties (development zones) can resume classes; primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in districts and counties (development zones) with epidemics, closed and controlled, and controlled districts and counties (development zones) will be allowed to resume classes. The epidemic prevention and control headquarters of the subordinate districts, counties, and development zones have studied and decided on the resumption of classes in light of the regional epidemic situation. The city’s colleges and universities resumed the normal education and teaching order in an orderly manner, and at the same time strictly implemented the requirements for normalized epidemic prevention and control. In Lintong District and Xixian New District, the local epidemic headquarters will carefully decide on the resumption of classes based on the regional epidemic situation.
The education departments of all districts, counties, and development zones should guide schools to make overall preparations for the resumption of classes, including epidemic prevention and control, campus safety, and education and teaching. Schools must strictly implement the main responsibility for epidemic prevention and control, refine the plan for returning to school and resumption of classes and emergency plans, and adopt various methods to inform students and parents of the conditions and relevant requirements for class resumption. Schools should carry out sanitation and environmental disinfection, and implement epidemic prevention measures. For students who are temporarily unable to resume classes, continue to provide online teaching service guarantees, home life guidance and psychological care.
