National Ear Day is approaching, teach you to eat “smart ears and eyesight”

The World Hearing Report released by the World Health Organization states that one in five people worldwide is hearing impaired. From a clinical point of view, due to the influence of various factors such as work pressure, work environment, and ear health, the hearing impaired patients tend to be younger. Therefore, early detection, early prevention and early treatment are of great significance.

March 3, 2022 is the 23rd National Hearing Day. This year’s theme is caring for hearing health and listening to a wonderful future.

An expert from the Gao Hong Tinnitus and Deafness Studio of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department of Zhejiang Zhongshan Hospital said that in order to protect our ears, in addition to developing good habits, it is also very important to learn to eat “ear-friendly” food important.

●Food for nourishing the kidney

Chinese medicine believes that the kidney opens the orifice in the ear, and hearing loss is closely related to the kidney function. Therefore, you can eat more foods that nourish the kidney, such as Gorgon, wolfberry, black dates, black beans, black fungus, black sesame and so on.

●Foods rich in carotene and vitamin A

Such as carrots, pumpkins, tomatoes, eggs, lettuce, zucchini, fresh oranges, etc. Carotene and vitamin A can provide nutrients to the sensory cells of the inner ear and the epithelial cells of the middle ear, and enhance the vitality of ear cells.

Experiments have shown that vitamin A has the function of promoting the regeneration of nerve cells in the inner ear. Patients with neural deafness should eat foods rich in vitamin A.

●Zinc-rich foods

Sesame, walnut, peanut, soybean, brown rice, whole wheat flour, etc. Zinc can promote fat metabolism and protect ear arteries.

●Magnesium-rich foods

Such as red dates, walnuts, sesame seeds, bananas, pineapples, mustard greens, day lily, spinach, kelp, seaweed and grains. Deficiency of magnesium in the ear arteries can affect the function of the ear arteries and cause hearing damage.

Of course, on this basis, we must also strive to change bad habits, so as to quit smoking and drinking, avoid staying up late, and learn to control emotions.

If you have the habit of using headphones, you should pay attention to scientific use and keep in mind the “60-60” principle. That is, when using headphones, the volume should generally not exceed 60 decibels; the continuous use of headphones should not exceed 60 minutes.

According to data, 90-100 decibels can cause hearing loss, 100-120 decibels are unbearable, and can temporarily cause deafness in a few minutes. Adults should wear headphones no more than 3 to 4 hours a day, and minors no more than 2 hours.

In addition, in-ear headphones are easy to breed bacteria, and when the ear is damaged, it is easy to cause inflammation, increase earwax or even form embolism, causing symptoms such as tinnitus and dizziness. It is recommended to clean and disinfect the earphones with 75% alcohol every week, and try not to cross-use them to avoid infection. Don’t sleep with headphones on, and don’t wear only one headphone to avoid hearing imbalance and brain fatigue.
