Stye is a common and frequent ophthalmological disease. People of all ages can suffer from it. Diabetic patients are prone to it, and it is also very common in young people.

Although it may look intimidating, most stye go away on their own. If you have a stye, you should do the following: pay attention to a light diet and avoid spicy food; pay attention to rest; local cleaning and hot compresses to promote the subsidence of inflammation. It should be reminded that during the inflammation, redness and swelling of the stye, remember to avoid squeezing to prevent serious complications such as eyelid abscess, orbital cellulitis and cavernous sinus thrombosis.

If the stye does not subside on its own, try moxibustion at Erjian Point. Erjian acupoint belongs to the large intestine meridian of Hand Yangming and has the effect of purging heat.

Operation method: Take two points on both sides, moxibustion with moxa cones the size of rice grains for 3~5 strengths each, and each moxa cone must be used for moxibustion. The fire goes out naturally and cannot be extinguished by hand. If the stye does not become pus, the swelling can be relieved and the pain will be relieved by applying moxibustion once. If the sty is pus, the pus will burst out after applying moxibustion once. Generally, it can be cured after 2 times. For those with red eyes and pain, after moxibustion at Erjian acupoints, puncture the temple on the affected side to make it bleed a few drops to help relieve heat. Ginger-separated moxibustion can also be used.

Moxibustion has the effect of ventilating blood and dredging meridians.
