Chile’s Easter Island reopens to foreign tourists

From August 1, local time, after more than 27 months of business suspension due to the new crown epidemic, the tourism industry of Chile’s Easter Island restarted and began to receive tourists from outside the island. The first flight from mainland Chile will arrive on the 4th and will maintain a frequency of twice a week. There will be one more weekly flight from September.

According to the regulations, foreign tourists need to hold a negative nucleic acid test certificate for the new coronavirus within 24 hours, a health pass issued by the Chilean Ministry of Health, an invitation letter from local residents of Easter Island, or a reservation certificate for a hotel on the island, and the length of stay shall not exceed 30 sky.

Easter Island is located about 3,600 kilometers west of mainland Chile, and it takes about 5 hours to fly from Santiago, the capital of Chile. The megalithic statues on the island are world-famous, and the whole island is included in the World Cultural Heritage List. It is a famous tourist destination in Chile.
