Cancer prevention, why “early” and how to “early”

Under normal conditions, cells in the human body will grow and divide to form new cells according to the needs of the body. After the old or damaged cells die, they are replaced by these new cells. When cancer occurs, cells’ normal processes of growth and death are disrupted. For this reason, cancer is also referred to as a “disease of cells”.

Cancer is often seen as a discoloration, because many cancer treatments are few and ineffective. It is for this reason that The theme of the National Cancer Prevention and Control Week from April 15th to 21st this year is “Cancer Prevention, Early Action” strong>.

So, how to deal with cancer “early”?

NO 1 Prevention is early

30% to 50% of cancers can be prevented by eliminating or minimizing exposure to risk factors. Taking action to reduce the likelihood of cancer as much as possible is our best solution to the threat of cancer.

So, what factors increase the risk of developing cancer?

Factors that increase cancer risk include unmodifiable genetic factors, and modifiable environmental and lifestyle factors Factors.

Environmental factors include exposure to various carcinogens, such as ionizing radiation, ultraviolet rays, aflatoxins, infections caused by certain viruses or bacteria, etc. avoid.

Lifestyle factors are a priority for cancer prevention, as about one-third of cancer deaths are due to tobacco use, overweight/obesity, Alcoholic beverage consumption, low dietary fiber intake, and physical inactivity.

So, we should

✔< /span> No Tobacco Use;

Maintain a Healthy Weight;

Healthy Eat a diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits;

be physically active;

avoid or reduce alcohol consumption of beverages.

NO·2 Diagnosis and treatment should be “early”!

Cancer does not equate to “death sentence”. Early detection and early treatment can also achieve good treatment effects for cancer.

Early diagnosis can detect cancer early, before it develops and spreads. Cancers detected early and treated effectively have better outcomes, lower costs, better long-term survival and better quality of life. But if the cancer is diagnosed at an advanced stage, treatment at this time is often less effective.

Early detection and early treatment can often achieve twice the result with half the effort. This requires us to pay attention to small changes in the body, such as changes in bowel/urinating habits, repeated bleeding, lumps in the body, difficulty swallowing, persistent cough or hoarseness, etc., and seek medical attention promptly.

We also need to regularly choose a professional medical institution for health checkup, actively complete each physical checkup, detect adverse physical factors early, and intervene as soon as possible .

Everyone is the first responsible person for their own health. To deal with the health threat of cancer, we also need to have a correct understanding of cancer, actively prevent and control cancer, and achieve early prevention, early detection, Early diagnosis and early treatment.

Cancer prevention, “early” is the key!
