In this competition, the cardiology team took “Reducing the incidence of phlebitis caused by peripheral intravenous application of amiodarone hydrochloride” as the theme, and systematically introduced the standardized process from focus problem (FOCUS) to problem improvement (PDCA). Their in-depth and novel reports won unanimous praise from the on-site judges.

Since Dianjiang County People’s Hospital launched the first key project quality continuous improvement activity (PDCA) in 2021, the clinical, medical technology, and functional departments of the hospital have self-analyzed, identified the pain points and difficulties, determined the improvement goals of key projects, and implemented them gradually according to the PDCA cycle. At the end of the year, the hospital organized various departments to hold preliminary and final competitions, and recommended particularly outstanding cases to participate in the Chongqing and national PDCA case competitions.

The hospital has established a comprehensive quality management concept by carrying out key project quality continuous improvement activities (PDCA), and used PDCA and other quality management tools to solve quality and safety problems and systemic problems, and set off an upsurge of “emphasizing quality and focusing on quality” in the whole hospital. Improve the management level of the hospital and help the high-quality development of the hospital. (Contributed by Dianjiang County People’s Hospital)
